BenefitsShea Butter is effective in alleviating redness and inflammation, and relieves chapped lips, sunburn, stretch marks and more. It melts into the skin at body temperature and is quickly absorbed to transform dry, itchy skin into soft and nourished skin. Shea Butter is also known to improve circulation in the skin and encourage cell renewal. It is also beneficial as an anti-aging compound because it stimulates collagen production and, if used regularly, softens wrinkles and fine lines.
HarvestOur shea butter comes from a women’s cooperative in Ghana. These empowered women harvest the nuts by hand and process them to produce some of the highest quality shea butter in the world. Shea nut trees, known as the vitellaria, can take 10 - 15 years to start bearing fruit and it can take as long as 30 years before full production is attained. Each tree can produce as much as 45 kilograms of fruit every year, and each piece of fruit can contain as much as 400 grams of dry shea nut seeds that are used to produce shea butter. Once the shea nuts have been harvested, the shea butter is extracted manually to retain its fatty acids, antioxidants, and vitamins for optimal benefits. The nuts are washed, sorted for quality and dried in the sun. Next the nuts are crushed, roasted, and then milled into a paste. The paste is then mixed with water to form shea oil. This raw oil must be boiled down to remove impurities, expel water and sanitize the oil. Once the oil cools, it solidifies into yellow shea butter. Sustainably grown and processed.

BenefitsBeeswax has valuable anti-inflammatory properties and high concentrations of Vitamin A, which assist in the soothing and healing of wounds and the development of new skin cells. Beeswax is water-repellent, allowing it to form a protective barrier from the sun and environmental impurities. This protective nature of beeswax also makes it effective at retaining and attracting moisture, so skin stays soft and hydrated. Beeswax’s humectant properties also provide relief from the itchiness caused by dry skin and eczema. The antibacterial properties of beeswax help clear pores and reduce acne breakouts.
HarvestOur organic beeswax is ethically produced all around the world by honey bees of the genus Apis Mellifera. Working as a team, Apis Mellifera bees produce beeswax and honey, but also pollinate our crops. (In the United States more than one-third of all crop production – ranging from nuts to berries to flowering vegetables - requires insect pollination. Consumers unknowingly rely on commercial beekeepers to provide pollination services to farms.) The bees create the wax which is used to build the honeycomb, with the main purposes of honey and pollen storage and brood protection. The honeycomb is then collected and melted after the honey is removed, and what’s left is beeswax that’s ready for industry use. While beeswax harvesting has faced much scrutiny in recent years, the fact remains that bees aren’t used as substrates for testing or raw materials in cosmetics, nor are they exterminated for their beeswax. Worldwide, bees are not harmed in the farming process. They are kept in optimal conditions where they can thrive and are never harmed in the harvesting of our beeswax. It is not in beekeepers’ best interest to harm their bees as the bees are essential to their livelihood. In some developing areas, entire villages depend on the income from honey and beeswax trade. Our responsible sourcing promotes pure, cruelty-free beeswax, and beekeeper safety. Sustainably processed.

1The Name Says It All
We’re obsessive about everything that goes into our products. So much so, that we named our company after what’s inside – Ingredients®.
-
2Radical Transparency
We all have a right to know exactly what we put on and in our bodies, so that we can judge its use, benefit, or potential harm. This is so important that we have placed every ingredient – the exact percentage formulation in fact – directly on the front of our bottles for all to see and share. How radical!

3Farm to Bottle
The best available ingredients are critical in producing great products. But it doesn’t stop there. Each unadulterated ingredient in our formulations are carefully sourced and transported directly from the best producers around the world – from organic farming whenever possible – to ensure purity & freshness. We do the hard work so you don’t have to.
